Certified translator of English/Spanish langu年龄.

An individual in this position is responsible for the accurate translation of verbal and written communications from one langu年龄 to another. Work may be performed at various branch courts and/or in a courtroom, 法官的办公室, 检察官办公室, 监狱, 拘留中心, 或医院. 

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work or onsite schedule after a 90 day period, as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.

Working Conditions: Moderate noise; business office setting.

Physical Demands: Work involves a significant amount of standing, 走, 坐着, talking and listening; Must be able to transfer up to 10 pounds.

Interprets oral communications from a foreign langu年龄 to English and vice versa; renders oral interpretation of written text.

Appears in court, as required, as an expert witness in order to introduce translations into evidence.

Reviews any material translated with any party involved with a case as required.

Certifies translations made by others as to the accuracy of the translation.

Reviews translated material as preparation for trial.

May be required to work weekends and overtime on a rotation basis.

Requires certification as a Certified 法庭口译员 as designated by the Florida State Courts System's Office of the State Courts Administrator. 两年一次的证书续期. Compliance with all Continuing Interpreter 教育 (CIE) requirements. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License if personal vehicle will be used to travel between courthouse locations.

Graduation from college with a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in English, 目标语言, or a closely related field; and

Two to four years of legal court-related interpreting experience; or

Four years of legal court-related interpreting experience.

Compliance with all Continuing Interpreter 教育 (CIE) requirements.

Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License; and

Ability and willingness to travel to different locations throughout Miami-Dade County as needed.

Eligible legal court-related interpreting experience requires the following knowledge, 技能, 和能力:

College-level knowledge of English and 目标语言.

Knowledge of the specialized vocabulary used in the judicial environment. 

Knowledge of the types of judicial proceedings including 让提审, 辩诉交易, 运动, and probation violation hearings and 量刑. 

Ability to translate and interpret fluently from and to different langu年龄s (one of the langu年龄s must be English). 要求语言为西班牙语. The langu年龄 may be spoken, written or recorded. The skill level of the langu年龄(s) must include slang, vulgarities and normal idioms. 

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 

General computer 技能, 技能 in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Zoom).

Familiarity with digital sound files and media players, such as Windows Media Player.

*Salary will include a Competitive Area Differential (CAD) pay additive amount of $704.09月.
